Program Description

HOPE's Domestic Violence Counseling Program offers victims and survivors of domestic violence individual and group counseling in a safe, supportive environment. HOPE also provides 'court sanctioned case plan' classes for victims of intimate partner violence who have had their children removed due to the batterer's violence. Counselors teach survivors the warning signs of domestic violence, life saving safety strategies, effects on of domestic violence on children and teens, financial empowerment and how to have a strong sense of self worth for a violence free future. Counselors facilitate interactive group activities, role plays and educational videos to allow survivors to share their feelings with others that are going through the same experiences. Survivors benefit from leaning on each other for support, guidance and encouragement to heal. Then they can move forward from being battered to reclaim their self worth to decide the next course of action. *Specialized groups for women of color, Spanish speaking, elderly, and same sex victims of domestic violence. *Call for an intake appointment at (941) 747-8499 (V/TYY).
