Program Description

The UF/IFAS Extension Family Nutrition Program (FNP) provides FREE evidence -based nutrition education and obesity prevention classes for youth and adults who qualify for SNAP benefits. FNP also supports healthy changes in schools, communities, and child care centers by providing trainings, workshops, consultations and technical assistance to help nutrition education go further. Programs are offered at no cost to SNAP-eligible participants. We do not offer one-on-one nutrition counseling.

The UF/IFAS Extension Family Nutrition Program (FNP) can come and teach nutrition classes at various locations throughout the community who serve families and individuals who qualify for SNAP benefits. If it is preferred, we can also have the classes scheduled at our office. We offer a variety of nutrition classes for youth and adults and they are presented through a combination of hands-on activities, discussions and demonstrations. We offer one-time classes or series based classes. Please call or email to set up your class. FNP also supports healthy changes in schools, communities, and child care centers by providing trainings, workshops, consultations and technical assistance to help nutrition education go further. We do not offer one-on-one nutrition counseling.
