Program Description

FND offers a virtual parent mentoring and support program for parents and primary caregivers of children with disabilities and special learning needs. Classes are presented by seasoned parent mentors and/or advocates and provide a wide variety of topics and issues that parents and caregivers face when raising a child with a disability. Group sizes are limited. Each class must have a least one Manatee County resident in attendance. Sarasota Parents are welcome to attend. You Will: Meet other families like yours Share information and ideas Learn about community resources Start building an individualized support network Discover how to navigate systems 6 Virtual sessions with topics including: Finding Community Resources Building Your Support Network Navigating Disability Systems Understanding IEPs & 504 Plans Planning for The Future
