Program Description

Pinnacle Academy is a private, non-denominational school, specializing in the education of children with autism and related behavioral disorders. Our goal is to provide children and families with a unique, supportive setting-a place to call home. Our philosophy is based on the agreement between researchers, educators, and parents, which strongly suggests that early is essential and more is better. We believe that children should not be expected to mold into a classroom environment or teaching style, but rather that the setting and methodology should be developed to suit each individual child.

Eligibility Requirements and Important Information

Pinnacle currently offers five programs for children ranging in age from 18 months to six years old. From beginning communication training to transition to inclusion, childrens varying levels are supported in our small ratio (1:4) classrooms. Curriculum is presented through zone-based teaching during the day and is specially modified to meet each childs individual needs, enhance kinesthetic learning, and promote motivation. Structured and incidental learning opportunities emphasize growth in communication, pre-academic, social, play, and self help skills.
