Eligibility Requirements and Important Information

Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) provides pre-employment transition services to youth (ages 14-21) with disabilities without requiring a formal eligibility determination. To receive pre-employment transition services, youth must have an IEP or 504 Plan or be able to provide some other evidence of a disability/diagnosis. Pre-employment transition services include: Job Exploration Counseling; Work Readiness Training; Work-Based Learning Experiences; Self-Advocacy Training; and Post-Secondary Educational Counseling. VR also provides traditional Vocational Rehabilitation services to eligible individuals, including youth transitioning from High School. To be eligible for traditional VR services, an individual must: 1. Have the goal of becoming employed; 2. Have a physical, mental, emotional, or intellectual disability that interferes with his/her ability to get or keep a job; and, 3. Require VR's help to prepare for, get, or keep a job.
