Program Description

Chosen Families is a unique program specifically designed for adoptive families. Adoption Competent professionals provide a variety of services customized to meet your familys unique needs. Utilizing the expertise of three organizations, (Parenting Matters, Adoption Related Services, and FND Manasota), your family can receive parenting support, counseling, respite care, and educational advocacy with just one call. This program is designed to alleviate common challenges related to adoption and to sustain and grow safe, secure, and nurturing relationships among family members. Not only will you feel more supported as a parent, you will better understand your child and know how to effectively address adoption-specific questions and behaviors. All family members can participate in services, so everyone will benefit.

Appointment can be made outside of our office hours and even arrange to meet you in your home. CLOSED- January- New Years Day, January- Martin Luther King Day, May- Memorial Day, July- Independence Day, September- Labor Day, November- Thanksgiving Day, November- Day after Thanksgiving Day and December- Christmas Day.

Eligibility Requirements and Important Information

This program is available to Manatee County families with adopted children ages birth to 17. Families created through all types of adoption are welcome (domestic, private, child welfare, international, step-parents, and relatives).

Fees vary for services, ranging from $10-$30. No insurance is required. Fees can be reduced or waived on an individual basis.

Our Family Service Coordinator will meet with you to understand your needs and help you access desired services. Your family can participate in all of our services or just one. We can also work in cooperation with other agencies your family may be involved with. Our goal is for your family to receive the services you want and need.
