Program Description

For children who do not qualify for Medicaid or CHIP (Florida KidCare), and are in a household under 400% of the federal poverty guidelines, Sertoma Speech & Hearing Foundation's Children's Hearing Aid Program will pay for new hearing aids, cochlear implant processors, and the associated services, ensuring the family has $0 out of pocket expense. For children who do not meet the criteria above, Sertoma provides financial assistance on a sliding scale based on income for the purchase of hearing aids through our in-house audiologist.

Eligibility Requirements and Important Information

Children's Hearing Aid Program: Must be ineligible for Medicaid, Florida KidCare (CHIP), and be under 400% of the federal poverty guidelines. Current copies of the federal poverty guidelines can be found at www.familyhearinghelp.org/chap under the "Income Verification" section. For our in-house clinic, families must submit proof of income, which will determine the level of assistance based on a sliding scale.
