Program Description
H.Y.P.E. (Helping Young People Excel) is a year-round, out-of-school, prevention, diversion, and intervention program addressing the needs of "high risk" 13- to 17-year-old participants. Based on the Strengthening Families Protective Factors Framework, an evidence-based approach, that also incorporates social and emotional learning (SEL) in an age-appropriate setting, supported by supervised and structured activities held in a comfortable, trusted atmosphere.
HYPE prepares young people through adolescence and adulthood, improving positive classroom behavior, increasing social/emotional/attitudinal skills about self, others, and school. Participants improve employ-ability, life, unsubsidized employment placement, post-secondary education opportunities, and/or a military career while attending and completing the TEEN HYPE PROGRAM: (AGE 13 - 17)
