Program Description

When quantity of time is no longer possible, TideWell Hospice and Palliative Care's focus is quality making the most of the time that remains. It's a concept of celebrating life and the relationships that make every day special. That can mean different things to different people. Perhaps it's simply a chance to spend time with loved ones in comfortable surroundings. Maybe it's reconnecting with someone who has been separated by miles, time or circumstances. For more than 25 years, TideWell has provided the highest quality care to patients and families dealing with advanced illness, while honoring human dignity and personal choice. TideWell strives to treat the whole person - fulfilling physical, psychosocial and spiritual needs - and views the patient and his/her family as a unit. That's what makes us so unique in today's health care picture. TideWell is your local not-for-profit hospice, licensed to serve since 1980. TideWell serves community of Charlotte, DeSoto, Manatee and Sarasota counties.

TideWell Hospice and Palliative Care teams are accessible 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including holidays. Call anytime you have a need or a question.

Eligibility Requirements and Important Information

Anyone can make a referral to Tidewell by calling 941-894-1777 locally or toll free 866-833-3753. For a patient to be admitted to hospice care, two things must happen: 1)The patients physician must certify that hospice care is appropriate. 2)The patient must consent to services. Tidewell offers a range of programs, and placing that call grants the person access to those resources for compassionate care when and where it is needed most.

Other Fee Information

All people in the 4-county service area who need and want hospice and palliative care services will be served regardless of ability to pay. Due to generous community contributions, no one is turned away.
